Illinois Fighting Illini Game Notes

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging on Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is a Big Ten Showdown, as Michigan Wolverines take on Illinois Fighting Illini.

Michigan is coming off a win against the Hawkeyes. But would like to open the Big Ten play, with a record of 2-0. Meanwhile, the Illini are hoping to get a win in this two-game stretch against the Big Ten, before the rest of the slate of conference games will be played Next Month.

The Wolverines are led by Isiah Livers in scoring. Jon Teske leads Michigan in rebounding. And Zavier Simpson leads the Ann Arbor University in assists.

For their team stats, they rebound the ball at 37.2 RPG. They distribute the ball at 16.6 APG. Defensively, they block 5.2 shots per game, and they take the ball 5.3 SPG.

Meanwhile, the Illini are led by Kofi Cockburn in scoring and rebounding. While Andres Feliz leads the team in assists. 

As for their team stats, they rebound the ball at 43.4 RPG. They distribute the ball at 16.2 APG. While defensively, they block 2.3 shots a game, along with stealing 5.9 SPG.

Final Thoughts:
Kofi Cockburn and the Illini showed up tonight and hit the Wolverines and referee Lewis Garrison hard. It almost look like the Illini were about to lose the game, after the accident from the celebration from Cockburn, but Feliz and Dosunmu were able to keep the Illini composure on the court.

For the Wolverines, they were just not getting to the line, in the 2nd Half. They only shot 5/6 from the charity stripe. 

Wolverines will host Oregon on Saturday. While the Illini will host Old Dominion also on Saturday.
