Live-Blogging: 2021 Empire Classic-Gonzaga Bulldogs vs. UCLA Bruins

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is the Non-Conference Game of the 2021-22 Regular Season. As #1 Gonzaga Bulldogs and #2 UCLA Bruins square off in the Empire Classic.

This matchup is a rematch of last year’s national semifinal, where Jalen Suggs hit a buzzer-beating 3-point FG to win the game for Gonzaga.

It was the game of the year, last season. And one of the, if not, greatest game of all-time.

Now, these two teams square off in a non-conference schedule. It is the first ever #1 vs. #2 involving programs who reside in the Pacific Time Zone, in that time zone.

Returning from last year are Tyger Campbell, Jaime Jaquez, and Johnny Juzang for the Bruins. While the Zags return Drew Timme and Andrew Nembhard.

Bulldogs are led by Drew Timme in scoring. Chet Holmgren leads the Zags in rebounding, and Andrew Nembhard leads Gonzaga in assists.

For the Bruins, they are led by Johnny Juzang in scoring. Jaime Jaquez, Junior leads UCLA in rebounding. While Tyler Campbell leads the Los Angeles University in assists.

As for the team stats, Zags average 41.2 rebounds per game and 20.6 assists per game. While Bruins average 42.0 RPG and 18.6 APG.

Michigan Wolverines Preview

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is a Seton Hall Pirates and Michigan Wolverines, as part of the 2021 Gavitt Tip-Off Games.

This game is the featured game of the interconference challenge. Why have you asked? Because the 1989 National Championship Game had Glenn Rice and the Wolverines defeat Pirates in Seattle, WA.

Now, the Wolverines are led by former player and now head coach Juwan Howard. Last Year, Michigan made it to the Elite Eight, where they lost to UCLA in the East Region.

For the Pirates, they didn’t make the NCAA Tournament this year. But the New Jersey Catholic University is hoping for Myles Cale to lead them to the Tournament.

It is Seton Hall Pirates and Michigan Wolverines, coming up shortly.

Duke Blue Devils Game Notes

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish o College Basketball’. Tonight, it is Game 2 of the 2021 Champions Classic, between Kentucky Wildcats and Duke Blue Devils.

Both programs are coming off down years. However, they are in the preseason Top 10 in the Writer’s Poll.

It is also a special year for Blue Devils Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski. This will be the Farewell Season for the Hall of Fame Head Coach. Blue Devils would like to let Coach K leave his College Basketball Career on a high note.
