Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is an Atlantic Coast Conference game, between the Duke Blue Devils and Miami (FL) Hurricanes.
Coming into Tonight’s game, the Hurricanes and Blue Devils are in 5th place & 6th place in the ACC Standings. Hurricanes are tied with NC State. But lost to the Wolfpack in the head-to-head matchup. Why is a fight for 4th Place important in the ACC? Whoever finishes fourth gets the final double-bye in the conference tournament. Duke also lost to the Wolfpack. But unlike Tonight’s Opponent, the Blue Devils have another game with North Carolina State, later this year. But that game doesn’t mean anything if Duke doesn’t get passed Miami and the rest of the schedule, This Season. The Blue Devils are led by Center Kyle Filipowski in scoring and rebounding. While Jeremy Roach leads Duke in assists. As for the Canes, they are led by Guard Isaiah Wong in scoring and assists. While Norchad Omier leads Miami of Florida in rebounding. Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is Game 2 of the 2022 Champions Classic, between Duke Blue Devils and Kansas Jayhawks.
Blue Devils are in their 1st year after Coach K. This will be a big test for them, as they will face the Defending National Champions. For the Jayhawks, they are in Game 3 of Bill Self’s 4-game ‘Self-Imposed’ suspension by the University of Kansas. And they are taking care of business in their non-conference schedule. But they will face a Blue Devils team, who would like to continue the winning tradition that Mike Krzyzewski was able to form at Durham University. It is Duke Blue Devils and Kansas Jayhawks, in Game 2 of the 2022 Champions Classic, coming up shortly. It looks like North Carolina becoming a safe at-large as an #8 seed. But do I have Duke in the Tournament?

Blue Devils are coming off a 2-game winning streak. They were struggling this year, but that is partly due to them relying on five freshmen, as they are combined 77.0 PPG for Coach K’s Squad. For the Hurricanes, they have dropped five straight games. And they would like to upset Duke on their home court, to try and stop the bleeding for Miami of Florida. Blue Devils are led by Matthew Hurt in scoring and rebounding. While Jordan Goldwire leads Duke in assists. As for the Hurricanes, they are led by Isaiah Wong in scoring. Nysier Brooks in rebounding. Blue Devils did not have a great start. They lost to Michigan State and Illinois. Also, Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski was critical of the NCAA handling of COVID-19. So much so, that he decided to cancel the remaining part of the non-conference schedule. Now Duke’s Men’s Basketball Program will focus on their ACC portion of the schedule. For the Irish, they also lost to Michigan State as well as Ohio State. However, they defeated Kentucky. They still must face Purdue in the Crossroads Classic on Saturday. But the Irish would feel better about their chances in the ACC and in the NCAA Tournament, if they can beat Duke at home. Blue Devils are led by Matthew Hurt in scoring and rebounding. While Jordan Goldwire leads Duke in assists. As for the Irish, they are led by Prentiss Hubb in scoring and assists. While Nate Laszewski leads Notre Dame in rebounding. This is a fight for sole possession for 2nd Place. The Seminoles are coming off a 3-game winning streak. While Duke are coming off a 5-game winning streak.
While the Seminoles still have a game with Louisville left on the schedule, Duke doesn’t have the Cardinals left on their schedule. This is a more important game for the Blue Devils, as they are riding high from their double buzzer-beater win over the Tar Heels, Last Saturday. Seminoles are led by Devin Vassell in scoring and rebounding. While Trent Forrest leads Florida State in assists. For their team stats, they score 75.6 PPG while allowing 64.9 PPG. They rebound the ball at 34.3 RPG. They distribute the ball at 13.6 APG. As for the Blue Devils, they are led by Vernon Carey, Jr. in scoring and rebounding. Tonight it is the Championship Game of the 2019 2K Empire Classic, between Georgetown Hoyas and Duke Blue Devils. Both teams won handily, however the Hoyas were having trouble against Longhorns. Meanwhile the Blue Devils were methodical against the Golden Bears.
Last Night, the Hoyas were led by Mac McClung in scoring. Jagan Mosely leads the team in rebounding. While James Akinjo leads the team in assists.
