The last time U Conn and Villanova faced each other in the Big East Tournament. Emeka Okafor and Ben Gordon led that Husky Team to a National Championship in 2004. Since then, UConn won a couple more national championships before going to the American Athletic Conference in 2013-14 and then returning back to the Big East in 2020-21. What happened during U Conn tour in the AAC, is that Villanova won a couple of national championships. Flames are trying to continue their success from last year. This year, they are off to a 3-0 start. They are hoping to go undefeated and hope Notre Dame lose, so that they can have a chance for a New Year’s Six Bowl game. As for the Orange, they would like to get back to having winning seasons.
