Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is 2022 NCAA Men’s Basketball Midwest Regional, between Iowa State Cyclones and Miami (FL) Hurricanes.
The talk about this matchup is that not too many people have this matchup. But I did. And here is how I picked this matchup and how they got here. Cyclones have taken advantage of LSU and Wisconsin’s downfall, in this tournament. Having LSU replacing head coaches before the tournament and Badgers Johnny Davis not at 100%, the Cyclones found themselves in the Midwest Regional Semifinal (aka Sweet 16) in Chicago. Hurricanes shouldn’t surprise college basketball fans either. They have knocked off Duke in Cameron and beat North Carolina and Notre Dame in Conference Play, This Season. They were able to beat underachieving programs like USC and Auburn to get to Chicago. Cyclones are led by Izaiah Brockington in scoring and rebounding. While Tyrese Hunter leads Iowa State in assists. For the Hurricanes, they are led by Kameron McGusty in scoring. Jordan Miller leads University of Miami in rebounding. And Charlie Moore leads the Coral Gables School in assists. It is Iowa State Cyclones and Miami (FL) Hurricanes, in the 2022 NCAA Men’s Basketball Midwest Region. The winner takes on Kansas/Providence, coming up shortly. Starting Lineups: Iowa State Cyclones: G: Izaiah Brockington G: Tyrese Hunter G: Gabe Kelscheur F: Aljaz Kunc F: Robert Jones Miami (FL) Hurricanes: G: Isaiah Wong G: Charlie Moore G: Jordan Miller F: Sam Waardenburg F: Kameron McGusty
