Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is a 2022 Big East Men’s Basketball Semifinal, between UConn Huskies and Villanova Wildcats.
The last time U Conn and Villanova faced each other in the Big East Tournament. Emeka Okafor and Ben Gordon led that Husky Team to a National Championship in 2004. Since then, UConn won a couple more national championships before going to the American Athletic Conference in 2013-14 and then returning back to the Big East in 2020-21. What happened during U Conn tour in the AAC, is that Villanova won a couple of national championships. And now these two will face each other, for the right to play Creighton in the Big East Championship. Huskies are led by R.J. Cole in scoring and assists. While Adama Sanogo leads University of Connecticut in rebounding. As for the Wildcats, they are led by Collin Gillespie in scoring and assists. While Eric Dixon leads rebounding. Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball: Villanova Wildcats at St. John’s Red Storm 02/03/20212/3/2021 Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is a Big East Battle as Villanova Wildcats taking on St. John’s Red Storm.
Wildcats defeated Seton Hall on Saturday, after postponing 7 out of 9 games before that game with the Pirates. They would like to pad their lead in the Big East, as they are currently in first place in front of Creighton by 3 in the loss column and only have played 6 conference games. For the Johnnies, they had a decent non-conference schedule. But they are average in conference play. They are currently 6th place and would be playing in the first round in the Big East Tournament. Wildcats are led by Conor Gillespie in scoring and assists. While Jermaine Samuels leads Villanova in rebounding. As for the Red Storm, they are led by Julian Champagnie in scoring and rebounding. While Posh Alexander leads the Queens School in assists. It is Villanova Wildcats taking on St. John’s Red Storm, coming up shortly.
