Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball-Mountain West Men’s Basketball-Nevada Wolf Pack at Boise State Broncos 01/17/2023

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on College Basketball’. Tonight, it is a Mountain West Men’s Basketball game, between Nevada Wolf Pack and Boise State Broncos.

These two squads are currently the paramount of the Mountain West in 2022-23. This game will determine who will stay on the peak of this conference.

For the Wolf Pack, they would like to earn a trip back to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Their last visit to the NCAA Tournament was back in 2019.

As for the Broncos, they are playing on a hot streak. As mentioned in the infographic, they won 4-game winning streak. They only loss in Mountain West play was against these Wolf Pack. They would like to avenge that loss, before their showdown in Albuquerque against New Mexico.

Nevada is led by Guard Jarod Lucas in scoring. Wolf Pack is led by Forward Darrion Williams in rebounding. And Guard Kenan Blackshear leads the Reno Program in assists.

For the Broncos, they are led by Guard Marcus Shaver, Junior in scoring, rebounding, and assists.

For a game that is supposed to be low scoring. Both are getting their shooting stroke on Tonight. Nevada shooting 53.6% from the field. Which isn't good enough compared to Boise State's 60% FG shooting.

Final Thoughts:
The game was high-scoring in the 1st Half. But in the 2nd Half, Broncos clamped down on defense and won this game decidedly. 

For the Broncos, they gave Nevada too much Max Rice. Rice led all scorers with 29 points.

As for the Wolf Pack, they just couldn't keep up the intensity against Boise State.

With the victory, Boise State moves to the paramount of the Mountain West Conference. 

Both teams next opponent will be against New Mexico Lobos. Boise State will head to the Pit, to play the Lobos on Friday Night. While the Lobos will visit Reno, to face the Wolf Pack on Monday Night.
