The last time U Conn and Villanova faced each other in the Big East Tournament. Emeka Okafor and Ben Gordon led that Husky Team to a National Championship in 2004. Since then, UConn won a couple more national championships before going to the American Athletic Conference in 2013-14 and then returning back to the Big East in 2020-21. What happened during U Conn tour in the AAC, is that Villanova won a couple of national championships. And now these two will face each other, for the right to play Creighton in the Big East Championship. Huskies are led by R.J. Cole in scoring and assists. Here’s What is at stake for both programs. Whoever wins tonight stays with Boise State and Colorado State for the Regular Season Crown for the Mountain West Conference. It will also give the victor a Quad 1 victory and help their tournament chances. The loser of this game will have to put more of an emphasis on winning the MW Tournament Next Week. Hoosiers are struggling. They are looking for their first win in February. They were a 9 seed in Last Week’s Brackets. And they need to win if they don’t want to become a bubble team. For the Buckeyes, they are playing well. They are having problems trying to shake Rutgers and Michigan State for the double bye in the Big Ten MBK Tournament. As well as a loss behind Illinois, Wisconsin, and Purdue for the Top spot in the Big Ten Regular Season. They need to win this game today to avoid the trap.
