​Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Professional Ice Hockey’. Tonight, it is an American Hockey League game, between Springfield Thunderbirds (St. Louis Blues Affiliate) and Laval Rocket (Montreal Canadiens Affiliate).
 
Thunderbirds (29-16-5-2, 65 points, .625 PPCT) are playing some great hockey. They have won 7 out of the last 10 games. And they are chasing the Providence Bruins for the top spot in the Atlantic Division.
 
For the Rocket (25-18-3-0, 53 points, .576 PPCT), they are doing okay. They are in third place in the North Division. They would like to get some wins, to stay on the inside track of the Calder Cup Playoffs.
 
T-Birds are led by Matthew Peca in scoring. While Rocket is led by Jean-Sebastien Dea.

Thunderbirds took over the game, with 3 goals (2 by Nikita Alexandrov) in the 2nd Period. And Matthew Peca iced the game with an empty net goal at 17:29 in the 3rd Period.

For the Rocket, they were putting SOG by Charlie Lundgren was too good, in this road victory for the Thunderbirds.

With the win, Thunderbirds are now .006 points behind the Providence Bruins for the AHL Atlantic Division. 

Springfield will head to Charlotte to take on the Checkers on Friday Night. While Laval will head to Rochester, to face the American on Wedensday.
