Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Professional Ice Hockey’. Tonight, it is an American Hockey League game, between San Diego Gulls (Anaheim Ducks Affiliate) and Ontario Reign (Los Angeles Kings).
 
Gulls (27-29-3-1, 58 points, .483 PPCT) are two points away from clinching a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs. They have 8 games remaining compared to their closest rival Tucson Roadrunners, who has 7 games remaining and .106 points percentage points behind them. The earlier San Diego can wrap up the playoff spot, the better for the Gulls.
 
For the Reign (38-15-5-4, 85 points, .685 PPCT), their chances of catching Stockton Heat, for the Pacific Division are slim.  But they could try and get rhythm going before the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Final Thoughts:
What a way to start your career in the American Hockey League, for Reign Goaltender David Hrenak! Hrenak faced 25 shots on goal, he stopped all 25 of the Gulls shots. Big win for Hrenak. 

For the Gulls, disappointing loss. They were not able to figure out the rookie netminder. 

In a game in the Pacific Division that means a lot, Tucson Roadrunners just defeated Colorado Eagles 4-3. With that result, the Magic Number for the Gulls to clinch a Calder Cup Playoff Spot should be at 3 points.  

Both teams will head to San Diego, to face each other Tomorrow Night.
