This is a Matchup of the winners of the last three NWSL Championships and was the matchup of This Year’s Challenge Cup. In that Championship Match, Courage defeated Spirit 2-1.
 
However, these two clubs have been struggling in the 2022 Regular Season, so far. They are the bottom two clubs in the Standings. So, a loss tonight could be an elimination match. Especially for the Spirit, as they have played 4 more matches than the Courage.

Halftime Thoughts:
A Lightning Delay midway through the 1st Half. When play resumed, Spirit & Courage were having a hard time get to the net.

That was until Trinity Rodman put one past Casey Murphy, in the 42nd Minute. Then Brittany Ratcliffe tied the Match 2 minutes later. Only for Tara McKeown to give the lead back to Washington.

Trinity Rodman & Diana Ordonez put the ball past their clubs ace goalkeepers of Audrey Kingsbury & Casey Murphy. 

Both Rodman & Ordonez scored braces in Tonight's 3-3 Draw in Cary.


With the Draw, Spirit move into 10th Place. While Courage is still in last place. However, North Carolina still has 4 games on hand over Washington. 

Courage will head to Portland to face the Thorns. While Spirit will head to Louisville, to face Racing. Both fixtures will occur Next Friday.
