Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Horse Racing’. Tonight, it is Canterbury Park Stakes races. Three of them that I will feature. 1 dirt and 2 turf races. As well as a couple of colt races and one of the turf races is a filly and mare distaff.

Here are today’s stakes races over at Canterbury Park:

Race 5 (Victor S. Myers Stakes), 6 furlongs, Dirt, 7 horses, $50K:

In this stakes race, it is a battle of 3-year-old colts and geldings where it is the only stakes of this post that is on the dirt. The favorite of this race is #7 TheAlligatorHunter at 8-5. While the long shot of this race is #5 Thick Haze at 15-1.

20 MTP: Alligator opens up the near post wagering at a 1-2 favorite. The Dirt Track is muddy.
15 MTP: TH is a 35-1 long shot.
10 MTP: #4 Bayou Benny is near his morning line of 9-5. He is at 2-1 odds.
5 MTP: #1 Magician Holiday (7-1) and Golden Gulley (9-1) are near their morning line, which both were 8-1.
2 MTP: Alligator is an even-odd favorite. While TH is a 25-1 long shot.  BB is nearest to his morning line of 9-5, at 2-1.

TheAlligatorHunter wins the 2021 Victor S. Myers Stakes at 3-5. Kid's Inheritance placed at 16-1. He will earn wagers $6.80 for Place. He will earn wagers $3.20. $1 Exacta (7-3) paying out $13.80. $0.50 Trifecta (7-3-4) paying out $16.65. $0.10 Superfecta (7-3-4-5) paying out $15.30. 


Race 6 (Ralph Strangis Stakes), 7.5 furlongs, Turf, 9 horses, $50K:

For this stakes race, it is a battle of colts and geldings who are 3YO and older. The long shot of this race is #6 Happy Hour Cowboy at 20-1.

20 MTP: The race is now on the dirt. It will not be on the turf. And the race is now 1-mile long.
15 MTP: #4 Cinco Star is the favorite at 6-5 odds.
10 MTP: #8 Twoko Bay is a 16-1 long shot.
5 MTP: #5 Dame Plata is at his morning line of 5-1. 
2 MTP: CS is an 8-5 favorite. While Twoko Bay and #7 Hot Shot Kid are 13-1 long shots.

Race 7 (Minnesota Turf Distaff) 7.5 furlongs, Turf, 11 horses, $50K:

The last of the stakes races of this blog post is a battle of fillies and mares. #1 Defend the Rose is a scratch. While #6 Clickbait is a 5-2 favorite. And #4 Diva De Kela is a 30-1 long shot.

20 MTP: #3 Shabam is another scratch. This race is now on the dirt and should be a mile long. Also this race is now just a distaff. 
15 MTP: Clickbait is a 2-1 favorite. 
10 MTP: #4 Diva De Kela is a 50-1 long shot.
5 MTP: #8 Grand Prize is down to 3-1.
2 MTP: Clickbait is the favorite at 2-1. While DDK is a 45-1 long shot.
