​Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Horse Racing’. Tonight, it is Ruidoso Downs’ Stakes Races featuring 2021 Rainbow Futurity.
 
Last Year’s Rainbow Futurity winner was Whistle Stop Café, who went on to win the 2020 All-American Futurity. The favorite of this year’s race is #8 Jess Savin Candy at 4-5.
 
Also in this post, is the Rainbow Juvenile Stakes and Mr. Jet Moore Handicap.

​Race 8 (Rainbow Juvenile Stakes), 400 yards, Dirt, Sloppy, $100K, 12 horses:
For the Rainbow Juvenile Stakes, it is a battle of 2-year-olds. The favorite of this race is #7 Messynger at 5-2 odds. While the long shot of this race is #3 Shesa Relentless Gal at 30-1. There are two scratches in this race, they are #11 Speed N Rich and #12 Candy Going Grand.

20 MTP: APollitical J Legacy opens up as the favorite at 2-1. 
15 MTP: SRG and #4 Hot Ivory Eyes are 19-1 long shots. 
10 MTP: The Track is sloppy.
5 MTP: #8 El Painted Eagle is at his morning line of 3-1 and is the favorite. #1 The Big Favorite is back at his morning line of 5-1. 
2 MTP:  EPE is the favorite at 3-1. While the long shot of this race is SRG  at 20-1.

Post: #2 and #1 gets bumped.

Race 9 (Mr. Jet Moore Handicap), 400 yards, Dirt, Sloppy, $40K, 8 horses:
In this race, it is the Mr. Jet Moore Handicap. There are two scratches in this race #4 Regalo Coronados and #6 Prime Cartel. There are two long shots at #1 Elmer and #3 HS Paul Walker are 12-1. While the favorite of this race is #2 Powerful Favorite as the even-odd favorite.
 
20 MTP: #2 Powerful Favorite opens up at the near post wagering at 2-5. 
15 MTP: Elmer and HS Paul Walker are 10-1 long shots.
10 MTP: #7 Macs Lady M is near her morning line of 4-1. She is at 9-2.
5 MTP: The Track is still sloppy.
2 MTP: PF is the favorite at 1-2.  While Elmer is a 10-1 long shot.

And the featured race of this blog post, the 2021 Rainbow Futurity. As mentioned, #8 Jess Savin Candy is the favorite at 4-5. While there are two long shots at 30-1. #4 Significant Dynasty and #7 Lethal Avenger are the long shots.

20 MTP: JSC opens up the near post wagering as an 8-5 favorite.
15 MTP: Significant Dynasty is at 25-1 long shot.
10 MTP: #5 Lethal Viper is near his morning line of 20-1. He is at 18-1.
5 MTP: The Track is still sloppy.

Final Thoughts:
Big wins for Shesa Relentless Gal and Perry's Double Down. But Jess Savin Candy captures the 2nd leg of the QuarterHorse Futurity Triple Crown at Ruidoso Downs by a nose.

Jess Savin Candy is now one win away from the Triple Crown. His owners and trainer is hoping he succeeds at the All-American Futurity at Ruidoso Downs, on Labor Day.
