​Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Horse Racing’. Tonight, it is the 2021 Brad McKenzie Winter Championship at Los Alamitos Racecourse in Cypress, CA. This race is a Grade 1 race and is apart of a championship weekend at Los Al. The purse for the winning horse and his training staff is $157,750.
But there is another prize that can be won tonight. It is a Pick 6 Carryover. That prize is currently worth $32,000.
 
Here are the races for tonight’s Pick 6 including the BMLAWC.
​Race 3, thoroughbred, 4.5 furlongs, Maiden Claiming, 7 horses:
 
For the first race of this Pick 6, it is a thoroughbred race involving fillies and mares. The favorite of this race is #6 Gemma Royal at 8/5 odds. While #4 Madera Jubilee and #5 Three Dreams are long shots at 20-1.
20 MTP: Fierce Kitty opens up the near post time betting at 2/5 odds. 
15 MTP: #2 Remember to Bid and Three Dreams are the long shots at 25-1.
10 MTP: FK is now an even-odd favorite. 
5 MTP: GR hovering around her morning line of 8/5 and is at 2-1.
2 MTP: FK is the favorite at 6/5, while #1 Jaydann Bus and RtB are 17-1 long shots.

Post: RtB and FK are having issues at the gate. #5 Three Dreams is also acting up. The race is in a delay. #2 Remember to Bid is a late scratch.

In this race, it is a 1000-yard race involving fillies and mares. #4 Tell It Again has been scratched from this race. There are no double-digit long shots. However, the favorite of this race is #1 horse Tick Tock at 9/5.

For this last thoroughbred of the evening, it is another 1000-yard race where all but one horse is a gelding. The lone non-gelding is a filly by the name of Chollima, who is a 4-year-old at 9/2 odds. She will be the #6 horse. But the favorite is #7 Circus Act is the favorite at 5/2.
20 MTP: #5 Zimba Warrior starting off the near post wagering as a 3/2 favorite.
15 MTP: #1 Neah Bay and #3 Mr. Esken are 22-1 long shots.
10 MTP: #2 Swamp'n Ain't Ez is at his morning line at 7-2 odds. 
5 MTP: #4 Shark Cat is a 2-1. 
2 MTP: ZW is the favorite at 3/2. While NB and Mr. E are 24-1 long shots.

Race 8 (2021 Brad McKenzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship), 400 yards, Grade I Stakes, 10 horses:
In the finale of tonight’s slate of races at Los Al, it is the 2021 BMLAWC. It is a Grade I Stakes race and is for male horses 4-years old and up. The favorite of this race is #4 Powerful Favorite at 6/5. While There are a couple of long shots at 30-1. #3 Sepertist Dash and #8 Pay Me In Front are the 30-1 long shots.
20 MTP: Powerful Favorite starting off as an 1/9 favorite.
15 MTP: #2 Made Over is a 99-1 long shot. 
10 MTP: #7 Red Hawk Cartel hovering around his morning line of 20-1. He is at 23-1.
5 MTP: #5 Up for Speed was at 9/2 morning line. Now he is at 13-1. 
2 MTP: Powerful Favorite is the favorite at 1/5. While Made Over is a 70-1 long shot.

Powerful Favorite is the big winner of tonight, as he wins the Brad McKenzie Winter Championship Stakes. He pulled away midway through the race.
