New England Patriots Depth Chart
Hello and welcome to another edition of 'Live Blogging on Shish on Football'. This Afternoon it is the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. This is the first of two meetings between these AFC East. The original beasts of this Eastern Division (Miami Dolphins) are coming into this afternoon's game with a record of 4-6, while the current beasts of the AFC East (New England Patriots) are leading the division again with a record of 8-2.

This year's edition of the Miami Dolphins are a mess. They are going into today's game not sure who will start between Jay Cutler or Matt Moore. (Update: Matt Moore will start vs. NE).  They traded their Pro Bowl running back Jay Ajayi to the Eagles.  And they are currently in a 4-game losing streak.  What is going for them is that according to the NFL, they are leading the teams who are tied with the other 4-6 teams due to the Conference Record (Division Record vs. NYJ).  This is where the Dolphins need to make headway for their playoff hopes. The rest of their games are against the AFC, and four of their next 6 games are against the Patriots and Bills.

As for the Patriots, they are rolling with a 6-game winning streak.  They are leading the AFC East by 3 games.  A win vs. the Dolphins would help their case to win another AFC Eastern Division.  Like the Dolphins they also will play the Bills twice.  So the fight for the AFC East begins today in Foxborough.

Statistically the Dolphins are scoring 15.7 PPG, and move the ball at an average of 292.3 YPG (211.9 through the air and 80.4 on the ground). Defensively the Dolphins are allowing 25.4 PPG, and yield 339.2 YPG (229.3 through the air and 109.9 on the ground).

The Patriots statistically are scoring 29 PPG, and move the ball at 410.6 YPG (League leading 410.6 through the air and 106 on the ground). Defensively the Patriots are allowing 20.3 PPG and yielding 401.9 YPG (282 through the air and 119.9 on the ground).

The Patriots will play the Bills in Buffalo, while the Dolphins will come home and play the Broncos.
