Hello and welcome to another edition of ‘Live Blogging on Shish on Mixed Martial Arts’. Tonight it is the UFC in Atlantic City for one of their fight nights on FS1. As I will live blog the Main Card Tonight. Here are the fights on the Main Card.

Jim Miller vs. Dan Hooker: Lightweight Bout:

In this lightweight bout, it is the American Jim Miller taking on the Kiwi Dan Hooker. Miller is 28-11, 1 NC, while Hooker is 16-7.

Both fighters are known for their submission skills. But Hooker is the better knockout artist, while Miller can win by decision. Hooker is the faster striker. His takedown game is equipped better defense than Miller, as well as being more successful at bringing a fighter to the mat. While Miller protects himself on strikes, as well as averaging more takedowns.

As for the Tale of the Tape, Hooker has advantages in height, reach, and leg reach.

Aljamin Sterling vs. Brett Johns: Bantamweight Bout:

In this Bantamweight Bout, the American Sterling takes on the Welsh Johns. Sterling is 14-3, while Johns is undefeated.

Sterling is slightly better than Johns in KOs and submissions. Johns has won the majority of his fights by decision. Sterling lands more strikes, and is slightly better than Johns in defending strikes. Johns is better than Sterling in takedowns.

Neither fighter has an advantage, when it comes to height, reach, and leg reach.

David Branch vs. Thiago Santos: Middleweight Bout:

In this Middleweight Bout the American Branch takes on the Brazilian Santos. Branch comes into this fight, with a record of 21-4, while Santos comes in with a record of 17-5.

Santos is the statistically better striker, while Branch is the better grappler.

Branch has advantages in height and reach.

Justin Willis vs. Chase Sherman: Heavyweight Bout:

In this heavyweight bout, it features a couple of Americans. Justin Willis takes on Chase Sherman. Willis comes in with a record of 6-1, while Sherman comes in with a record of 11-4.

Both fighters are known for their knockouts. But Willis has gone the distance more than Sherman. Sherman lands more strikes, while Willis defends them. Willis has some takedown experience, compared to Sherman.

Willis has a 14-pound weight advantage. Sherman has advantages in height and leg reach.

Co-Main Event: Frankie Edgar vs. Cub Swanson: Featherweight Bout:

In this Featherweight Bout, Frankie Edgar takes on Cub Swanson. Edgar comes in with a record of 21-6-1, while Swanson comes in with a record of 25-8.

Swanson is more of the knockout artist. While Frankie has won more by decision. Cub lands more strikes, while Frankie is the better defender of both strikes and takedowns. And Edgar is the better Grappler.

Cub Swanson has advantages in height, reach, and leg reach.

Main Event: Edson Barboza vs. Kevin Lee: 5-Round Lightweight Bout:

In the Main Event, Edson Barboza takes on Kevin Lee in a 5-Round Featherweight Bout. Barboza comes in with a record of 19-5, while Lee comes in with a record of 16-4.

Barboza known for his knockouts. While Lee is known for his submissions. Barboza is slightly better than Lee in landing strikes, as well as defending them. Lee is more accurate of a striker. Lee averages more takedowns and submissions. While Barboza more accurate and better at defendingh takedowns.

It is the UFC Fight Night Main Card in Atlantic City, NJ, coming up shortly.

Miller vs. Hooker:
Round 1:
3:27: Miller with a shot to Hooker's face.
3:07: Miller takes down Hooker.
2:00: Hooker knees Miller to the nose.
Hooker wins by TKO (Knee)

Between fights Matt Serra is named to be in UFC Hall of Fame.

Sterling vs. Johns:
Round 1:
4:58: Sterling is in gray trunks. Johns is in black trunks.
4:35: Quick movement.
4:20: Johns with a kick.
3:15: Both fighters are now trying to figure each other out.
2:56: Sterling tried for a takedown, but Johns counter and bring Sterling to the mat.
2:40: Sterling reversed the position and pinned Johns.
2:10: Johns got Sterling and him back up on their feet.
1:37: Sterling has Johns pinned to the cage.
1:11: Both fighters got away from the cage.
:23: Sterling establishes the middle of the mat.
:11: Steling has Johns on the ground.
:00: The end of Round 1.
My Guess: Sterling wins Round 1 10-9.

Round 2:
3:25: Johns got Sterling down to the mat, but both fighters are back on their feet.
2:50: Sterling with some haymakers. But Johns stays on his feet.
2:01: Sterling takes down Johns.
1:49: Johns gets back on his feet.
:54: Referee backs them apart from the cage.
:30: Sterling with a leg kick, that nearly takes out Johns' leg.
:05: Johns tries a spinnig back fist and kick.
:00: The end of Round 2.
My Guess: Sterling wins Round 2. 10-9.

Round 3:
4:20: Sterling tries to take Johns down..
4:11; Sterling took down Johns.
3:55: Sterling trying to get Johns back on the mat. The American is pinning the Welshman on the cage.
1:40: Referee breaks up the fighters from the cage.
1:22: Sterling misses a spinning elbow.
:54: Johns gets away from Sterling and his takedown attempt.
:30: Sterling with another takedown.
:10: Sterling nails Johns, but Johns went the distance.
:00: The end of the fight.
My Guess: Sterling wins Round 3 10-9. Sterling wins the fight 30-27.

Result: Aljamain Sterling wins by unanimous decision.

Round 1:
Branch is in gray trunks. While Santos is in black trunks.
4:30: Santos with a leg kick.
4:08: A lot of dancing by both fighters, in the middle of the ring.
3:26: Santos with another leg kick.
2:31: Branch nails Santos. Branch grounds and pounds Santos. Ref stops the fight.
The fight is over.

David Branch wins by TKO.

Willis vs. Sherman:

Round 1:
Sherman is in gray trunks.
Willis is in black trunks.
3:49: Willis with some punches.
3:20: Sherman with a leg kick. Willis counters with some punches.
2:54: Sherman starts with some haymakers. Willis hits him in the face.
2:46: Willis gave Sherman a cup check.
2:35: Willis tags Sherman. Willis is trying to finish Sherman, but Sherman is still functioning. Willis has Sherman on the ground.
2:00: Sherman gets back up.
1:30: Willis hit Sherman in the jaw.
:35: Sherman has Willis pinned on the cage.
:00: The End of Round 1.
My Guess: Willis won Round 1 10-9. n

Round 2:
3:30: Both fighters countered. The fight is stopped as they are looking at Justin Willis eye, after Sherman put a thumb in Willis' eye.
2:17: Sherman with a kick to the midsection.
1:50: Sherman with a head kick, but falls to the ground. Willis is on Sherman.
:55: Both fighters are getting near the cage.
The end of Round 2.
My Guess: This round went to Willis 10-9.

Round 3:
4:48: Both fighters trade jab.
4:02: Sherman measured and connected on an elbow, while being pinned on the cage.
3:21: Sherman gets Willis pinned by the cage.
2:50: Referee warns fighters to start moving.
2:35: Both fighters get away from the cage.
2:10: Sherman pins Willis to the cage.
1:41: Sherman elbows Willis, on the cage.
​:45: Willis has Sherman on the cage.
:33: Willis looks tired, while Sherman looks like the fresher fighter.
:15: Sherman connects with a strike.
:00: The end of the fight.

My Guess; Sherman won Round 3. Willis won the fight 29-28.

Edgar vs. Swanson:
Round 1:
Edgar is in gray trunks. Swanson is in black trunks.
4:23; Edgar got a quick jab in Swanson's body.
3:59: Edgar with a leg kick.
3:30: Edgar missing on some punches. As Swanson moves away.
2:50: Edgar lands a leg kick to Swanson's shin.
2:17: Edgar lands some punches. Edgar trying to takedown, but only got Cub to the cage.
1:53: Both fighters are away from the cage.
1;19: Edgar with a leg kick.
:47: Edgar slips while trying to do kick to Swanson's head.
:10: Swanson lands a leg kick.
:00: The end of Round 1.
My Guess: Edgar wins Round 1. 10-9.

4;12: Edgar chasing Swanson around the Octagon.
3:47: Edgar got Swanson to the cage.
3:30: Edgar lands a leg kick to the calf.
3:18: Edgar lands a leg kick, nearly collapses Swanson.
2:51; Swanson gets out of Edgar's takedown.
2:08: Swanson avoids another takedown by Edgar.
1:43: Edgar with an inside leg kick.
1;15: Swanson with a leg sweep attempt.
:43: Swanson starting to land some jabs.
:17: Swanson with some takedown defense.

My Guess: Edgar wins Round 2. Edgar 10-9.

Round 3:
3:48: Swanson with a jab.
3;05: Edgar with a leg kick.
2:49: Edgar lands a right to Swanson's face.
2:38: Both fighters trade strikes.
2:10: Edgar pins Swanson to the cage.
1:47: Swanson with a knee to the head.
1:32: Swanson gets away from the cage.
:56: Swanson with an elbow.
:42: Swanson becoming a chaser.
:00: The end of the fight.

My Guess: Swanson wins Round 3, 10-9. Edgar wins fight. 29-28.

Result: Frankie Edgar wins by unanimous decision.

​Kevin Lee missed weight. He will have to forfeit a percentage of his purse to Barboza.
Barboza is in gray trunks. Lee is in blue trunks.

4:58; Barboza with a leg kick attempt.
4:25: Barboza connects with a leg kick.
4:13: Lee succeeds with a takedown.
3:45: Lee gets Barboza cornered on the ground.
3:17: Lee has Barboza away from the cage.
2:25; Barboza goes closer to the cage.
2:12: Lee is starting some ground and pound.
2:00: Lee continuing with some elbows.
1:37: Lee landing some strikes, while Barboza is by the cage.
:58: Lee used some powerful hammer fists to Barboza.

4:30: Lee failed on a takedown.
3:53: Lee succeeds with a takedown.
3:42: More strikes by Lee.

1:20: Barboza tried but failed to get back up from the ground.
:36: Lee with some shots on Barboza's head.

My Guess: Lee wins Round 2. Lee 10-9.

Round 3:
4:55: Lee connects on a jab.
4:30: Barboza with a leg kick.
4:10: Barboza defends a Lee takedown.
3:55: Barboza got Lee down spinning leg kick to the temple. But Lee is still in the fight.
3:33: Lee got another takedown.
2:35; Barboza get back up on his feet.
1:53; Barboza lands a leg kick.
1:37: Barboza almost lands a flying knee.
:51; Lee with a leg kick to the back.
:39: Barboza with a leg kick to the side of Lee.
:00: The end of Round 3.

My Guess: Barboza wins Round 3. Barboza 10-9.

Round 4:
4:30: Both fighters trade shots.
4:05: Lee with a takedown.
2:45: Lee with some shots to the side of Barboza.
2:05: Crowd chanting 'Stand them up'.
1;28: Lee with some shots, while Barboza is on the cage.
1:07: Barboza tries and fails to get up off the mat.
:41: Lee has Barboza away fromt he cage.
:14: Lee trying to get a choke.
:00: The end of Round 4.
My Guess: Lee wins Round 4. 10-9.

Round 5:
2:18: Referee ends the fight. Barboza’s right eye is cut open.

Lee wins by TKO.

Final Thoughts:
Frankie Edgar and Edgar Lee looked impressive tonight.
