​Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Baseball’. Tonight, it is Game 2 of the National League Division Series, between San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers.
 
Dodgers started off the game by scoring 5 runs in 3 innings. They ran Mike Clevinger out of Game 1, only going 2.2 innings pitched. Padres scored 3 runs in the Top of 5th Inning. However, the Dodger Bullpen took over the game.
 
For the Padres, they need to a strong start by Yu Darvish. That is if they want to send the NLDS back to San Diego tied up at 1-1.
 
As for the Dodgers, they need to keep their dominance against Padres going by continuing to take early leads.
 
Tonight’s Starting Pitchers are right-hander Yu Darvish for the Padres. And left-hander Clayton Kershaw for the Dodgers.
 
Darvish comes in with a pitches/plate appearance of 3.85. His strikeout/walk ratio is 5.32. And his groundout/airout ratio is 0.75.

For the Cubs, they are eliminated from MLB Postseason. However, they get one last chance to play spoiler. And the team they would like to spoil, is the Philadelphia Phillies.

After taking 4 out of 5 games vs. Twins. The Guardians have a magic number of 11, for winning the AL Central. If they sweep the White Sox this week, they will trim that number down to 5. If they get swept by the White Sox, then their lead will be down to 1 game.
 
The White Sox are coming in a little hot, going into this series. They have won 3 out of 4 games, including a makeup game against these Guardians in Cleveland, This Past Thursday.

Padres are trying to avoid a swoon for the 2nd consecutive season. They added Juan Soto, Josh Bell, and Josh Hader. But it is still a struggle for the Friars, as they are only 2 games ahead of Milwaukee Brewers for the final NL Wild Card Spot.
 
For the Mariners, they are looking like they will improve upon last year. Last year, they were a couple of games short of making the postseason. This year, they are in the postseason by a few games over the Orioles. As Seattle is fighting Tampa Bay & Toronto for AL Wild Card positioning.

So, this interleague matchup has 38 world series won, between Yankees & Cardinals. That is why last night’s game broke attendance records for this version of Busch Stadium. As much as this matchup doesn’t come often, these two teams are heading into different directions.
 
As Mentioned in the infographic, Yankees have dropped 4 straight games. They still have the best record of the American League. But they need to correct their play before October.
