​Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Horse Racing’. Tonight, it is the Early Pick 5 Harness Racing at Stickney, Illinois’ Hawthorne Racecourse.

Hawthorne Racecourse doesn’t usually have Monday Night racing. However, they did not have racing This Past Friday Night, due to the DuQuoin State Fair. So, they are having a special Monday Night Racing.

For this post, I will be blogging the Early Pick 5 of their slate of races. Here are those races.

Race 1, 1 Mile, Dirt, Pace (9 horses):
The first race of the night is a pace of Colts and Geldings. The favorite of this race is #9 Fishyriggins at 5-2. While the long shot of this race, is #6 Hi Ho Julio at 15-1.
10 MTP: #9 Fishyriggins started off as the favorite at 5-2. 
8 MTP: #3 Da Peoples Panther is a 39-1 long shot. 
6 MTP: Fishy is near his morning line of 5-2. He is at 3-1.
2 MTP: Fishyriggins is the favorite at 3-1. While DPP is a 33-1 long shot.

1/4 MI: 5-4–1-9
1/2 MI: 5-4-1-9
3/4 MI: 9-5-1-4

9-1-5-7

Fishyriggins wins this race as a 3-2 favorite. He will earn his wagers $5.00. $1 Exacta (9-1) paying out $29.10. $0.50 Trifecta (9-1-5) paying out $29.05. $0.20 Superfecta (9-1-5-7) paying out $53.58.


Race 2, 1 Mile, Dirt, Trot (6 horses):
For this race is a co-ed trot. There are no double-digit long shots in this race. But the favorite of this race is #4 She’ll Dew at 2-1.

10 MTP: She'll Dew is a 4-5 favorite. 
8 MTP: She Loves ToJiggle is a 16-1 long shot.
6 MTP: #5 Gregory John is at his morning line of 4-1.
4 MTP: #2 Ramblin Cougar is now at 12-1.
2 MTP: She'll Dew is the favorite at 7-5. While SLTJ is a 16-1 long shot.

This next race is a battle of fillies and geldings. #7 Thenameisbond is a 20-1 long shot. While #6 Freddie Da Fox is a 2-1 favorite.

10 MTP: #5 Todos is the favorite at 4-5 odds.
8 MTP: TheNameisBond is a 90-1 long shot.
6 MTP:  Todos is now an even-odd favorite.
4 MTP: #1 Refined Destiny is near her morning line of 7-2. She is at 5-2. 
2 MTP: Todos is the favorite at 3-5. While TNIB is a 60-1 long shot.

In the penultimate race of this Early Pick 5, it is a battle of fillies and mares. #2 Found My Rock is a 2-1 favorite. While #3 Fox Valley Lizzy is a 15-1 long shot. 

10 MTP: #7 Roulette Blue Chip is a 4-5 favorite. 
8 MTP: #8 Corels Last Roll is a 99-1 long shot.
6 MTP: RBC is an even-odd favorite.
4 MTP: CLR is back down to 19-1. #4 Tremendous Cruiser is a 50-1 long shot.
2 MTP: RBC is the favorite at 3-1. While TC is a 50-1 long shot./

Tremendous Cruiser wins this race at 23-1. She will be earning her wagers $48.00. $1 Exacta (4-1) paying out $284.40. $0.50 Trifecta (4-1-5) paying out $1065.75. $0.20 Superfecta (4-1-5-2) paying out $5479.98.

Race 5, 1 Mile, Dirt, Pace (10 horses):
The finale of this Early Pick 5 is a race of geldings. The favorite of this race is #10 Crash and Burn at 3-1. There are three long shots at 30-1. #5 Tymal Torch, #6 Fast Track, and #8 Fox Valley Hoss are those 30-1 long shots.

10 MTP: #1 Fox Valley Triton is the favorite at 9-5.
8 MTP: #6 Fast Track is a 99-1 long shot.
6 MTP: FVH is at his morning line of 30-1. 
4 MTP: #2 AloneinSpades is down from 15-1 to 5-1.
2 MTP: FVT is the favorite at 9-5. While FT is a 65-1 long shot. C&B is back to near his morning line of 3-1, at 7-2.

Fox Valley Triton wins this race at 4-5. He will earn his wagers $3.80. $1 Exacta (1-7) paying out $17.60. $0.50 Trifecta (1-7-10) paying out $45.75. $0.20 Superfecta (1-7-10-9) paying out $41.70. $0.50 Early Pick 5 (9/6/1/4/1) paying out $342.65.  $0.50 Pick 5 (4 of 5) paying out $4.90.


Final Thoughts: 

Big Money paying out on Race 4. As Tremendous Cruiser won that race as at 23-1. Corals Last Role showed in that race 35-1.  So, the $1 Exacta paid out $284.40. $0.50 Trifecta paid out $1065.75. While $0.20 Superfecta paid out $5479.98. 

And if you had Fishyriggins, Lou Paschal, Refined Destiny, Tremendous Cruiser, and Fox Valley Triton, you won $342.65.
