Hello and welcome to another edition of ‘Live Blogging on Shish on Baseball’. Tonight it is the Houston Astros taking on Colorado Rockies. The Astros come in with an A.L. West Leading 67-36, by 6 games, over the Seattle Mariners. While the Rockies come in with a record of 53-47, 2.5 GB of the Dodgers in the N.L. West and 2 games behind both Braves and Diamondbacks for the Final Wild Card.

This game is more of a must-win for the Rockies, as they are fighting for a divisional crown or a wild card spot. As for the Astros, they look like they could be playing in October, with their division lead, as well as their outstanding starting pitching.

And one members of that pitching staff will be tested at Coors Field, as right-handed Charlie Morton will go for the Astros. While the Rox will go with right-hander Jon Gray. Morton comes in with a record of 11-2, an ERA 2.96, 1.15 WHIP, 3.24 K/BB, and 3.90 P/PA. While Gray comes in with a record of 8-7, a 5.44 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 4.17 K/BB, 3.80 P/PA.

Final Thoughts: In a well-pitched game in Denver. However Charlie Blackmon had an OPS game, concluding with a Walk-Off Home Run in the Bottom of 9th Inning, for the Rockies. As for the Astros, it was a tough one. They only managed to get 1 hit, in the game. 

The Standings look like this, The Astros now have a 5 games lead on the A.L. West, but lost a game to the Red Sox, for Home-Field throughout the A.L. Postseason. The Red Sox have a 4.5 lead on the Astros, for best record throughout Major League Baseball. As for the Rockies, they gained ground on both the N.L. West and Wild Card Standings. They are now 1.5 GB behind the Dodgers for the N.L. West Lead. While they are 1.5 behind the Atlanta Braves, for the final N.L. Wild Card.
