2025 Calder Cup Playoffs: Pacific Division Semifinals-Game 4-San José Barracuda at Colorado Eagles

Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘Live-Blogging Shish on Professional Ice Hockey.’ Tonight, it is Game 4 of the Pacific Division Semifinals, in the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. Between #6 Seed San José Barracuda (San José Sharks Affiliate) and the #1 Seed Colorado Eagles (Colorado Avalanche AHL Affiliate).

The Eagles took the first game of this Best-of-5 Series. Then the Cuda took Game 2 in overtime. Both of those games were in the Bay Area. Then Game 3 was in Loveland, where Matthew Phillips scored the Skate-Off Goal, at 5:02 into Overtime. Colorado has a 2-1 series lead and has the Cuda on the brink of elimination.

The Eagles are going to have to keep the pressure on the Barracuda in San José’s Zone. In last night’s game, Cuda Goaltender Yaroslav Askarov left the game in overtime with cramping.

For the Barracuda, they are also going to need some more scoring on 5-on-5 even strength. They got their first even strength goal, Last Night. But that needs to be more often, if they want to force a Game 5.

As for San Jose, they are led by Colin White in assist and points. Filip Bystedt and Pavol Regenda lead the Cuda in goals scored. While Luca Cagnoni leads the San Jose Sharks AHL Affiliate in assists.

Colorado is led by Jayson Megna in goals scored and points. The Eagles are led by Matthew Phillips leads the Colorado Avalanche AHL Affiliate in assists.

Final Thoughts:
Trent Miner and Yaroslav Askarov kept Game 4 scoreless through 40 minutes. Then Igoa Chernyshov (4:09) scored a goal, to break the tie. But that was the lone goal for the Barracuda. As the Eagles scored 3 unanswered goals in the final frame.

Eagles get goals by Chase Bradley (5:26), Tye Felhaber (13:32; PPG), and Jason Polin (19:04; EN). As Colorado advances to the 2025 Pacific Division Finals.

Colorado Eagles await the winner of the Abbotsford/Coachella Valley Series, sometime next week.
